It warms my heart that we can agree on this one, Philly. I seem to remember that the Big Lebowski was mentioned a couple of pages back and that you like that too. One more where we agree :D

Yeah, I like the Coen brothers' films a lot, mostly.  They have made a few stinkers though.

I like all their earlier films, not saying they're all equally good but they're all good.  They peaked with Fargo and The Big Lebowski, at that point I thought they could do no wrong.

The next two were a little weaker, but the first one which really massively disappointed me was Intolerable Cruelty - it's just a piece of fluff.  Then The Ladykillers, a cr@p remake of an infinitely better film.  No Country For Old Men was brilliant, but then Burn After Reading felt like treading water and A Serious Man left me a bit cold (although most people seem to like it).

It might just be coincidence, but I think they're at their weakest when they work with big stars like Clooney, Pitt and Hanks.

Watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday, though it was garbage.

... and watched Let the Right One In today, easily the best film I've seen in a long time.

saw role models last night, it was actually alright. After seeing a bunch of modern "comedies" recently, all of which were abysmal, it was a nice change.

oh and my computer broke, that's why i haven't been around.

I'm looking forward to watching this one myself. I've only heard good things about it.

Watched Where the Wild Things Are last night, was a really good film, heart warming childhood associations aside.

I've heard from a few people that The Hangover is good. I don't see how that's possible, it looks like a typical shite american teen comedy film?

definitely not a teen movie, and its surprisingly well scripted with some clever plot twists
