I haven't seen the trailer, but the title (obviously) makes me think of Liar, Liar.  Which is not a good thing to be reminded of. :|

Nope, I hate Jim Carrey so much!

Invention of Lying is a Gervais film. He's no good at that sort of thing. The Office, Extras and his stand up things are great though :)

The Invention of Lying actually confuses me. Surely if they were all lying then you'd have to translate what they say into what they would say when they're not lying.

So apart from translating French of something (i.e. simply reading subtitles) you have to think in your head about what they really said aside from what they are falsely saying. So you have to work your brain even more to enjoy a film.

Which just makes my head hurt thinking about it, I'd hate to sit in for 1-2 hours of it.

Isn't the film about them all talking, but saying lies? Then surely you'd have to translate back to what they are actually saying, lol..

The film's about a world where no-one lies, and someone discovers the concept of lying and discovers how powerful it can be when everyone is guileless.

I went to see 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs' at the weekend. Kids film, good harmless fun. Anyone wanting a decent film to watch with the family should check it out.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Jonny, you mean that if they are lying, then you have to assume the opposite to be true to understand what they are saying?

And yeah, the film is about nobody lying in this happy world, and Gervais working out how to tell the untruths ;)

I think you may be over-analysing it just a tad.

It's only a make-a-fast-buck Hollywood comedy.  They won't be expecting anyone to think.  :P

Don't ever watch  Last Year At Marienbad.

Carrying on the TV talk, I'm currently watching Breaking Bad. So addictive. I should be out drinking as its freshers week, but none of my mates are about tonight :(

Yes. Very much so. And Rachel Nichols far more so. And it still doesnt make it worth it. Only if one of them materialised out of the screen and gave you a blow job would the film be worth the time.

Edit: And I like bad films! Really. Just ask Philly.

I thought AVP 1 and 2 were good ass entertainment, and I hated this.

Is this option available in 3D, I could deal with that
