Liam Neeson should have been Reacher :)

Neeson's too old and plodding.  Look at the way they had to shoot Taken in that cr@ppy shakeycam/closeup/fast-edit style, basically because he couldn't handle the action scenes.  :P

It was Hugh Jackman that they were strongly tipping at one point-I seem to recall Lee Child mentioning it at one point( I might be wrong). Not that I know who he is though I've no doubt seen something he is in. I am just hopeless at remembering actors.

Just watched Let the Right One In. I was very confident in that I wasn't going to like it, can't stand all the 'modern' vampire love cr@p. Fortunately this film isn't very...vampirey. I was engrossed throughout the full film. The story is very moving and is worth watching for the acting alone.

Tis an excellent film. Haven't seen the remake (didn't see the point, same goes for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), but allegedly they did a pretty good job of it.

+1

I don't mind neeson as an actor, but it's sorta mystifying how he's all of a sudden started to be cast in action films.

I watched the Box the other day. Boy is that a weird film. It's like Donnie Darko but more intense.

I watched 'Into the Wild' last night (actually early hours of this morning). Really enjoyed it albeit the story was a tad depressing. I hadn't realised until the end of the film that it was based on a true story. I've since been reading up on the events that inspired the film and am finding it strangely compelling reading.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Was that the first time you've seen it?  It's one of the very few films I've watched multiple times.  Shame it's not available on a decent Blu-ray (and shame about the "sequels"....  :? )

Yeah - I remember seeing another Tony Jaa film a few years ago, can't remember what it was called, but he was trying to find an elephant...

He's pretty amazing.  And the film is pretty good, some superb pantomime fight scenes.

Tom-Yum-Goong, aka Warrior King (UK), aka The Protector (USA).  All equally stupid titles.

That was good too, but don't bother with Ong Bak 2 or Ong Bak 3.  They're set in the middle ages, co-directed by Tony Jaa himself, and they're terrible.  :(

End of Watch - Really enjoyed it, though I found some of the action scenes annoying with the fast cut handicam stuff but still a fun film. I thought the "main" bad guy swore too much though. God I sound like my mum

Django Unchained really impressed me. I have yet to see a Quentin Tarantino movie I didn't love.

Not sure if this is the best place to post this but I have just watched Steel Panther's 'British Invasion' DVD. I have seen many other live videos of them playing and they blew me away. They sound awesome live. My only gripe with them is that they try too hard to be funny. It hasn't really bothered me that much in the past as they are genuinely funny guys and I get it comes as part of the whole parody thing. However 15 minutes into the DVD and I was already fed up with the intervals inbetween songs. They were constantly pushing the comedy act and it soon became annoying, so much so I started skipping to the start of every song. It's a shame really because they do sound just as good as they do on their albums, especially Satchel's tone.
