Ok so this is a cover i'm doing for my as music technology coursework. Its not usually the type of music i record so it what interesting to see was sounds I could get out of the nailbomb.
It's a maroon 5 song and there's no vocals on it yet. I haven't mixed or edited it at all, I just changed a few levels to make it listenable.
The choruses are the nailbomb split, i was going for more of a thinner singlecoil-y sound than the full thick 'bomb sound we all know and love (the solo is full out gain and humbucker though :P )
It's a been a bit of a rush tbh. Did the drums in an hour on sunday, this is second take. Rhythm guitars on tuesday after school for an hour and a half. Bass on wednesday after school (had to teach him it and record it in 45 mins, but hes pro so he picked it up and added loads of stuff in minutes.) Winged the guitar solo at morning break today 8). And wolfed down my lunch and recorded the nylon string for the verse at lunch break.
Sooo, anyway, i'd like to know what you all think of the tone. I think its come out rather well, considering the pickup and the amp (h & k warp x - for metal).
Oh and also, any production tips you can offer would be greatly appreaciated. I'm the guinea pig for music tech at our school so i'm on my own. My "teacher" is the head of music who just makes sure i hit the deadlines. So yeah any tips you could offer would be awesome.
Thanks a lot! x
