Original Ibanez TS808 - because it's what all my heros used
Old late 60s VOX wah - because it sounds right
TC Electronic  chorus/flanger  pedal - because it was just the best for what it does
ADA Flanger - because I want to make "Aint Talking Bout Love sound perfect
Marshall Guvnor (original one ) - because Gary Moore made Still got the blues

And this one:

Is that a real pedal?  I mean, I know that it can't do what the knobs indicated is it an overdrive pedal or something like that.  If so, I want one just for kicks. :D

(1) 60s Clyde McCoy Wah - gotta have a wah and this is the King of them imo.
(2) original RAT - trademark fat mids, Jeff Beck used one (nuff said).
(3) Univibe - for those swampy Hendrix grooves, nothing else will do.
(4) MXR Dynacomp - classic heavy compression and useful solo boost too.
(5) EH Memory Man - smooth delays, the only delay pedal I've regretted selling.

I could cover almost anything with that lot.

OD1
Didn't that have some asymmetrical clipping or something special at the time?
I thought it was thought quite highly of, but has had no representation here. although I have not played one..

Alright, there is a real trend here with people listing the Klon Centaur.  I have listed to a few clips on youtube and I have to admit that I'm just not seeing the emperors clothes here.  That doesn't mean that they are not there, of course.

Has anyone famous used this pedal?  Does anyone here have or have any of you had one?

Where is the magic?

I tried one in Vintage & Rare once on Denmark St. and I was EXTREMELY impressed with it. I thought it was sort of like the ultimate Tubescreamer, but very much improved upon. Then again i was using it between a Custom Shop reissue Les Paul into a Cornell Plexi 7 (I think!). I'm sure a Behringer overdrive would've sounded awesome in that setup!
LOVING the Mules!

the OD1 does sound pretty nice and is WAY under-appreciated.  it does indeed have asymmetrical clipping and is very similar to the SD-1 that came after it as the new 'improved' version except that the SD-1 has a tone pot fed by one half of the opamp, hence the mid hump

I have an early Klon, and the great thing about them is that they are very transparent sounding.  They add just the right amount of edge and drive without affecting the tone of the guitar.  I had avoided this thread because I might actually have a lot of the pedals that people are listing (I have an original MXR phase 90 (and phase 100), original JEN Cry Baby, original tone bender,  hot cake, v-twin, etc).  But since I am now replying, these are my top 5

Original Watkins Tube Copycat
Boss CE-1 Chorus
Foxx Tone machine
WEM Wah Wah
MXR Blue Box

I admit the copycat isn't a pedal, but I used to have one that had been modified to include an extra playback head and the sound was great into a Selmer T&B 50.  The WEM wah was unusual in that there was no on-off switch, so it is always in the signal path.  I should never have got rid of mine!!

For me the options would be

Tube driven Binson Echorec (following Phils non pedal sized effect)
Early Tonebender Fuzz
Early Vox wah
Early Rat
and I'm undecided between a CE-1 Chorus, Univibe or a nice thick early Phaser

Goodbye London !

I don't normally use many pedals. I'm pretty happy with the pedals I have:
H&K Tube Factor (one of the greatest tube overdrives ever);
Old Ibanez CS9 Chorus (THE chorus sound of the 80's);
Boss RE-20 Space Echo (95% of the RE-201 tape unit sound, 0% of the hassle);
Dano Shift Daddy (cool echo with wah-like controls that looks like a car. I don't use it anymore but I'm keeping it for the looks);
AMT Metalizer (fun, characterfull, hairball distortion).

What would I want more?

A decent tremolo;
A good tube screamer;
A Wah;
A Whammy.

Here's my top five based off things I own, have owned, or have tried and will own soon, rather than vintage things I've only heard on recordings.

Korg Pitchblack Tuner
Skreddy Top Fuel
Eventide Timefactor
Skreddy Lunar Module
Keeley Compressor

I own the top two, have the middle one on order, and will have the last two very soon :D
BKPs (soon): CS, TS.
Ex-BKPs: Abrax, NB, SM, PK, Mule, WP.

thundertomate phil hilborne treble booster - twilight recommended it, and i like the treble booster setting on my tonelab, and i like iommi's treble booster tone.
...
edit: have just ordered the phil hilborne, so we'll see what its like when it arrives.

i must admit i'm slightly baffled by what exactly the DIP switches are doing. i'd love some proper manual for it. also it hums mightily with a PSU. its early days, however i can tell you:

1) sound quality is great
2) i like it alot, even if i didn't get the best out of it yet
3) bass response can be thin or strong, and points in between - but it always remains tight
