In fairness, it's broadly in-line with their stated politics.

What? Like supporting a free press?

Their politics are all packaged rebellion for money anyway, so it's fairly irrelevant.

Pendulum looked awesome - http://www.bbc.co.uk/readingandleeds/2008/artists/pendulum/

I must be getting really old. I had never heard of Pendulum before this weekend - have they been going long? Personally I don't really get what all the fuss was/is about. Maybe I am turning into my parents already.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Dunno I dont really like drum and bass much but for some reason love Pendulum.

Watching metallica now, I dont really like them much but it looks awesome. Really regret not getting a ticket. I'm gonna have to go next year if the lineup is anything like this years.

I went to Leeds. I was expecting rain and mud but somehow it stayed mostly dry all weekend. It was muddy on thursday but gradually dried out throughout the weekend. We were gonna stay until the Mondya morning but decided to leave on sunday night as the place turned into a warzone riot. 6ft tall campfires everywhere you look and big bangs from exploding gas canisters every 30 seconds, despite the warnings displayed everywhere including on the main stage screens. I hope noone got hurt and if they did that it was the idiot who threw it in. horrible smelling smoke surrounded the campsites made it difficult to breathe and gave me headaches. When a second big fire was set up about 3m from our tent we decided to get the $%&# out of there. Really dissapointed by the people and was reminded why I prefer Download to Leeds; far less idiots there risking everyone elses safety.

The bands I wanted to see most were Metallica, Rage and QOTSA and they were all fantastic. Really glad I got to see Rage cos I thought I was never gonna get the chance. Tenacious D didnt disappoint either. Pure comedy with great musicianship. Metallica wasnt up to the Download 2006 standard but still awesome. Missed a few classics and I thought the set was short. They played the new song Cyanide which had a very catchy riff and I liked it a lot. Cant wait for their new album which is out next month :D

Killers were boring as hell. Should have gone to see the gallows.

Very low standards IMO

Download 06 was also full of riots if you recall. And it all stemmed from 'say no to emo'

Really, I thought they were awesome then. I did see them up at the front then and this time I saw them from quite far back so that might have been a contributing factor. plus it was the first time I saw them so my memory might be biased.

Dont remember there being any riots at DL 2006, not around where we where anyway. I did hear the "say no to emo" thing but I didnt see any actual fights. Most of it seemed verbal. But trust me the fire, smoke and the explosions were pretty bad in Leeds. My mate's friend's tent was set on fire whilst she was in it ffs.
