Strings on my strat are buzzing, even with fairly high action(2-2.5mm at 17th fret) and slight neck relief. I don't
want to go any higher, but can't figure out how else to get rid of fret buzz, or should I just put up with it?(use .010s)
Maybe a pro set-up is in order, anyone know a good tech in Yorkshire?
Also, to turn my strat into a hardtail, I screwed the bridge down to the body and put in 2 more trem springs. This worked ok, but when I replaced the backplate, it's cut-out slot was out of line with the string holes in the steel block, meaning I have to remove the backplate to change strings. Does this mean I have to do a Clapton job on it with a block of wood to keep things in line? Much of a job?
