I plan to put a TV Jones in the neck of my '72 Tele Custom, the wide range is ok but nothing to write home about (and it's an old 70s one too).

I'll get it done at the same time as the Bigsby  :D

Especially when the CV is already routed for a neck 'bucker - they're a great choice for experimenting.

yeah, that really wouldn't help!

There are several problems which really are rather more pressing than this!

Predictable? Yeah. Right? You know I am. :)

Well the TV Jones pickup is in and all wired up, along with the four way switch  :)

I've been playing it for a couple of hours, adjusting pickup heights, and generally just enjoying it.  What a great little guitar!

I have it in open G and it's great for those rhythm sounds by Keef and Billy Gibbons.  The four way adds the both pickups in series option for a slightly fuller and more powerful tone than the TV Jones alone.  Very useful for singing lead lines etc.

Verdict?  A great setup.  I'm off to play Jesus Just Left Chicago just once more before bed...

I sold the top one a few years back - it was a Warmoth build with a JB neck and vintage Broadcaster bridge

There are 3 in this but the sunburst has a Silvertone mini-humbucker (made by Gibson) in the neck, with a 3 & 3 screw pattern, and a brown sugar bridge (it's a 59 Esquire neck).  The blonde is a 57 with black guard flatpoles, and the butterscotch is a Musikraft body with a Warmoth goncalo alves neck with a kingwood fingerboard and a Piledriver and Slowhand.
So many pickups, so little time

you know what phil, i like tele's but the John Birch and the zemaitis clones stand out so much more on that picture

the min hum is definately sexy though - dont think i have seen a min hum looking so much like a wide range before!

the gold pedal also intrigues me, because (a) its gold, and (b) the case is quite deco

Isn't that a Klon Centaur?

You are right Philly, it is a Klon Centaur, one of the originals with the logo on.  The Goldtop with P-90's is a 54 original, the one next to it with PG set is an 86 dark back.  Next to that is a 57 Strat with Apache's, then the JB!  The last one is a Warmoth build with Apache's with backplates on all, and a Wenge/Bloodwood neck.

The Metal Front Zemaitis clone has an Emerald/AIV Mule combo, and the pearl front has AVMule/AIV Stormy Monday.
So many pickups, so little time
