RE: BKPs in PRSi

I can vouch for the Abraxas set in a PRS :D

With a 3-way toggle and a push/pull coil tap for the neck humbucker only, 5 very nice tones available :)

MQ would work well Phil?  I find the Mira does lack some warmth, but it takes gain really well.  A vintage styled and feeling guitar for modern tones - that's how I find it.

Yeah, that's a good description.  I think I want to rock the Mira up a bit, since the McKorina covers vintage tones so nicely.  And most of my guitars are in the vintage/vintage hot bracket, come to think of it.

MQ in the neck with the CS bridge?  That could be good!  :)

Then again, I was thinking of wiring it with a 5-way superswitch (the 3-way-plus-miniswitch annoys me a bit) so a neck humbucker would give the most versatile wiring. Everyone raves about the CS neck, but I suspect it may be a bit too "modern" for me - I might go back to the Abraxas neck, as Brow has mentioned.  Shouldn't have sold the one I had...

Apparently it's like hanging the QE2 anchor round your neck...

Just looking at the Warmoth site and came across this Rosewood tele body. Check out the weight!

I think I hate being indecisive.

Ouch!!!  :x :o

That would be around the 12 pound mark with a neck and pickups!

I was looking at Tele bodies on there yesterday.  I usually sort them by weight - I obviously gave up long before I reached that one!   I'd be wanting about half that body weight.

Not wishing to sound like a tree hugger but....

Rosewood is meant for fingerboards and inlays and pretty fings and stuff - not Tele bodies!

PS - I like Teles!

And here was me thinking it was a tree! Guitars are relatively young instruments, and I've seen rosewood bodied acoustics often. No reason why it shouldn't be used in guitar bodies other than it's weight.
