Paul Gilbert has signed my PGM301 how to seal it!???
« on: November 19, 2008, 10:01:38 PM »
Hey people

I went to see Paul in Leeds last night and he was amazing, he put 1 note wrong all night, ONE! phenomenal playing and such a nice guy when meeting him at the end, he truly is an inspiration, here are the pictures

I asked him to do one of his cartoons and he happily obliged :D he then went off to eat a Chinese with his band :P

The only bad thing now is that i can't really change to Bare knuckle pickups now :( not sure weather i should even play it...

Anyway my real question is how do i seal this in the best way possible? i want this to never ware off.

Thanks

Anthony

Why can't you BK it?

If you think it'll wreck the uniqueness then you can always get white open coils. OR a more expensive option - buy another PGM

Do you have the pen that he signed with?
I ask because it might say what type solvent is used in the permanent marker.
Also a sprayer would be able to test their spray against something drawn with the pen - other than whats drawn on your guitar.
The last thing you want is to dissolve the marker with the solvent in the paint to seal it in.

Put it in a glass case, lying on a soft quilt and have it engraved as "Paul Gilbert touched this, $%&# yes."

Agree with the glass case idea, put it in there, make sure it's vacuum sealed,
and hang it up on the wall, and demand anyone who comes to your house to kneel, raise their hands and shout out "WE"RE NOT WORTHY"

+1.
you need to keep it out of the light if possible to really preserve it - it'll start fading pretty quickly.
I'd get it sealed pretty heavily, keep it in the case when you arent playing it and it'll last a long long time :)
