Lily Pollen eh. Nice sock
Lovely looking Strat gwEm. Have you thought about one of those roller nuts if your into heavy trem use?
i didn't think roller nuts were for vintage radius fret boards?
You've got me there gwEm, I wouldn't know. I know Jeff Beck uses them on his strats as he is always using the trem.
I'm pretty sure the LSR one isn't for vintage radius, but there maybe other nuts for vintage radius boards.
BKP trem holding up really well so far, still waiting for them to send me springs (they forgot to include them before), using AllParts springs for now stolen out another guitar.
Those graphtech string trees definitely do what they say, its really helped the whole trem go back into tune, too bad they look so modern. Theres still some binding on the D and G strings, and I think its due to the nut. Might try a bit of pencil lead. Anyway, I don't really use the trem that much, but it is a nice thing to have working of course :) I think its binding as due to the fact its cut for 9/10s and I put 11s on without really looking at it.
I wired it so the lower tone control works on the bridge and middle pickup. Adding the tone control to the bridge darkened it up a little, and it works better with the other pickups. Good mod there. I bet master tone, master volume, blender would probably be the best control set based on what I've done to mine, but I'm after the old strat vibe for now... and I still really like the tone of this guitar, and I also like the way it encourages me to play.
Half thinking about another neck, and forgetting the 70s reissue theme (well, except for the CBS headstock). 22 big frets, roller nut, locking tuners, modern radius, the whole bit... I'll see how the Jazzmaster is when I get it together. Only the fact the neck is finished in poly is making me thing about replacing it. Its a real shame...
