that setting (the EQ and all) could work with an amp, if dialed in properly .. though i highly doubt that's the case there

if i remember rightly the pedal is going into a line 6 spider II

yes, yes it is..

it also goes thru a digitech whammy, which he constantly $%&#s about with all over... seriously thought the fire alarm was going off the other day when i got in from work... the wah on the treble setting also sometimes gets brought in.. WITH... chorus + Flange + Phase + tremolo....

... its all so bad...

I think you may have been living with him for too long. When you have reached to point of being enraged at everything they do, MOVE (or make them move, whatever the easier).

I really need to do this but am stuck living with the same annoying person for another year after this uni year  :( Everything he does annoys me for some reason. I dont even know why.

some people are just like that, this guy i live with, he is so spoilt... you can tell that growing up he got his own way all the time and was told 24/7 that he was amazing at whatever he did.. theirs a smugness... its like he can do no wrong.

other day he was on about absynth.. he was going on about it, and asking people if they like it, when they said no he goes it is an accuired taste.. then asks if anyone else knows how to drink it properly.. like he is the guru of all that is everything.. sod it that i was a barman/supervisor for ages.. that is meaningless to him.

In uni accomodation me and my partner in crime reigned terror on the annoying people in the house (shut in, selfish with the cupboard space and anything that can be plugged in, generally irritating) with practical jokes. Worth a try. You can start by dialing a decent sound into his gear, or be subtle and trick him into thinking/believing/spouting absolute nonesense about gear and music. Start by, I dunno, trying to tell him that right angled cable jacks sound better, maybe he'll believe it....and if he does....:D

Occasionally the makers of the orginal PAFs would injure themselves on the winders, and some blood would get in the pickup. It would very slightly rust the components and change the magnetic properties of the materials and give them their distictive tone. This is why modern machine made stuff doesnt sound as good.

(Adapted from the normally sarky "Wound with unicorn hair and potted in virgins blood" to describe some makers that talk about their pickups like they're embued with magic).

I hope youre writing this down!
