I was an opening bat, but never got past 35 in a serious match... (And actually I was caught behind second ball, but the umpire didn't give it...)

I did take a hat-trick once though (it was actually 4 or 5 wickets in something like a 10 or 11 ball over). I told the teacher I couldn't bowl, but he insisted that everyone had a go in this "trial match". At the end of the over, he said "Well bowled Andrew. But you were right, you can't bowl..."  I feel sorry for the poor git who was batting the other end - out 4 or 5 times for no runs :lol: The only two he could get a bat on, he was caught off - one of them was this high looping beamer that came down with snow on it, I'll never forget the image of him with the bat up round his head, then the wicket-keeper fumbling to catch it as it bounced off him... (we were only 11 years old :D)

all i know of that weird english game is that it comes from ancestral memories of the Krikkit Wars...  :)
jokes (and hitchhicker's guide to the galaxy) apart i have absolutely no idea of cricket...  :P

I'm nearly happy to admit I understand cricket only in the vaguest sense of the word. It's perfectly fine as background details, and is surprisingly relaxing to watch. It's the easy listening of sport.

Give me thirty crazed loopers running round a hurling pitch any day, though.

Absolutely agree. I imagine that this forum would be a lot less interesting if nobody posted their new gear/current gear on here.

I've never heard of this forum and coudn't even find it after a quick search on google! I've said it many times before and, risking a bit of repetition, will say it again. The BKP forum is the best forum on the internet.

the N?D threads are pretty interesting, and its a chance to post a review or whatever. i'm pretty tightfisted, so whenever i get something i've usually spent a while researching it, and so am proud when i finally get it. of course its nice to show it off in a way.

but feeling a bit guilty myself now, since some people are clearly annoyed by the N?D threads, and I have just posted a potentially redundant thread about my netbook. apologies for that, and i'll stop posting about new gear in the future unless its a bit rare or whatever.

this forum has been a bit quiet lately its true.
