How cheap?

Boss TU-2
Korg DT-10 (my tuner of choice)
Korg Pitchblack

They're your main guys, unless you go peanuts cheap like a Danelectro tuner?

korg pitchblack is meant to be true bypass... its a great pedal - i have one

The DT-10 is buffered, which is good if it's your first pedal...

Korg Pitchblack user here, it's great (and more accurate than the Boss too!) :)

The new Digitech Hardwire tuner looks good.  About £10 more than the TU-2 or Pitchblack though:

The pitchblack is great, very good to read on stage and quick to find the notes.

I don't know if it's proper true bypass as that would require a 3DPDT switch but the switch on my tuner feels more like just a mechanically controlled micro switch.  There's no pop like a true mechanical switch.

Nonetheless there is no signal degregation when bypassed and it's built like a tank....

Korg Pitchblack definitly, better than the Boss and not unnessecary huge like the DT-10

You're right tomjackson, in that it is an actuator switching a microswitch, but;
The Pitchblack is true bypass, the microswitch switches a relais that switches the pedal true bypass, just as good as mechanical TB. ;) But cheaper to make I guess.

edit: By the way, the + isn't more accurate in (half) strobe mode, only in standard mode.
