Nice one, Ian!   :)

It is impressive how quickly they update their website.... but a bit depressing when you've been watching something and it suddenly goes "out of stock".

Would this have anything to do with a Gibson 339 Philly?

Well, errrr.... no.  But that's another story.

So is this one of those "secrets" that "every b*gger one has been talking to already knows about"?

I'd like it noted that I didn't say anything until it looked like the owner of the "secret" was admitting to something

(btw we're in grave danger of hi-jacking a very important tele-based thread here - sorry Ian! :D)

Sorry guys, i slightly derailed the thread there!

The Esquire looks fantastic Ian! I love bound teles, although not really into relics. Enjoy it, and what is the tele you're selling?

Its ok Philly, i've been watching Guitar Village to see when they go back in stock too.

Yeah, yeah, OK.... I got a 339.

I've been keeping it quiet due to the recent controversy over "NGD" threads.  And the fact that I failed to keep my "no new guitars in 2009" resolution.  But Dave, Andy, Derek (and those who hung around in the pub longest after the London get-together) already know about it.

They say confession is good for the soul....

Sorry for the hijack, Ian!

Sorry for the hijack, Ian!

Great news Philly - no worries about the hijack as I know you've been hankering after a 339 for a while. You should post some pics up (or PM them to me if you don't want to!!!)

what is the tele you're selling?

It's a mid 70s tele. I have thought long and hard about it over the last few months and finally decided to let it go (although sadly I made the decision to sell after I had Jonathan do a really good refret on it). At least that means I can sell it safe in the knowledge that it is playable!

It is a nice looking tele but just a little too heavy and too thick on the finish for me to really enjoy playing it - it turned into a bit of a chore and I found that I was always favouring my strat and LP and seldom touched the tele. For me these were signs that it really had to be replaced with something I really liked rather than something I would have to grow to like. I thought about BKPing it up a few times but decided against it due to needing to BKP my LP.

I may regret the decision later on but at this moment, and maybe it's due to impending NGD giddyness, I really think it is absolutely the right decision to sell and replace with the CS Esquire (which if you hadn't got the impression already is more suited to me i.e. lighter and has a thinner finish!)
I think I hate being indecisive.
