cos than the plate on the bottom isn't that tough.
it'll lift up at one corner. im tempted to fix the bolt into the hole of the chassis, then at least i can spin around the bottom plate to get access to the pcb. but it's annoying.

i'd rather have a decent housing

Dmoney: Why not just ream out and start the thread again with a bigger bolt, or use a black cable tie?

because i dont have anything with which to do that.
and if im spending decent money on a circuit designed to go inside it, id rather it was a decent chassis to begind with. I didnt realise until recently that it was a problem.

I do have some fast setting metal putty that i stole in america to fix my strap buttons into my guitar while on tour. matches and tooth picks failed. I could put some of that in the hole and put the screw in and take it out, wait till the putty sets and hopefully that will work, leaving a thread behind. or it will just end up in a bigger mess.

i just want it to be neat.

I bought an Ibanez Weeping Demon. Its the bollocks. You can use it like a sprung loaded Morley or a Crybaby. Its got low frequency or normal and a few other tweeks. Nothing complicated. Its built like a tank too.

I wore out my cry baby. Bought new for 48 quid 20 years ago. I did have a new pot put in it but its got a crackle from the multi pin plug near the battery that wont go away.
