so, is it recent, or has it always been so...?

i personally haven't seen anything so bad that it'd put me off buying a GS. sloppy cosmetic stuff, sure, but that's all..

ffs! if you believe everything you read, then EVERY new product is worse than the one that preceded it...

You've been lucky then  ;)

There are several people now who have said that they've been unhappy with GS guitars from first hand experience.  We're not just spreading internet BS.  We personally have seen and played very poor examples.

Like we say, try before you buy.  There are some good ones out there  :)

Yes, I mean like a Floyd or ZR tremolo :D

ok, cool. you really have a ton of options, then, and depends on how much you want to spend. yamaha pacificas from the 112 up are great if you don't want to spend too much. but as i said, you have a load of options- fender, blade, ibanez, jackson, etc. etc. etc.

Absolutely.

Both my main guitars are Gordon Smiths. I love 'em.   But I have also played a couple of real shockers that should never have left the factory. One with appallingly sloppy fretwork, the other with a problem neck/body joint (apparently a known occasional problem area, as I have heard other reports of problems here).

surely the same could be said of pretty much any guitar brand. especially eastern mass produced stuff. i've also heard (lol) a lot of gibson's are really terrible...
...'these go to 11'

BKP'S: (so far) Mule, Stormy Monday, Brown Sugars(pair)

I don't know any more poker terms, but I'm not crazy about that (nice colour though)!  Much prefer your Warmoth Jazzmaster.
