I wrote a nice long post here and then got kicked off the server so it didn't post  :? :(

Anyway here's a shortened version:

My bro lives in Herefordshire which is absolutely stunning.  I went out in Hereford once and it was full of stunning women.

Infact most of the shire counties are nice.

If I could live anywherein England, then I'd live in Cornwall, but it would be a bloody long way back to visit Scotland.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

I continue to live in London for two main reasons
1) Lots of gigs to go to
2) large population density = enough customers locally to establish & sustain a business

I never said i was bothered about coming back to visit, so that's not much of a consideration right now.

Thanks for the suggestions folks, as i guessed there are places that are nice but have dodgy areas, like everywhere I suppose. I'll keep you guys informed of what happens, might be getting a hairy neighbor with a funny accent and BKPs soon.

Maybe we could also suggest places to avoid ?

My votes would go to :-

Reading
Basingstoke
Woking
Southampton
Potsmouth
Swindon

IMO, all just dull, chracterless places (obvious apologies to anyone living there !)

was it science you teach?   doesnt that mean you can go anywhere you want :)

our school is always short on science teachers who actually trained to teach science

Move to Russia or Ukraine. The crime rate is not as bad as what westerners think it is, and stabbings are relatively rare, although they do happen sometimes. Mostly you get shootings instead.

If crime really bothers you, move to Byelorus. Crime is quite rare there.

Come to London, there's loads to do. There are a some really horrible bits but lots of nice bits as you venture towards the south west.

The horrible bits need you!

I live in SW London, and my bit is still pretty horrible.

Mind you, Wimbledon's SW too and I wouldn't mind living there, very nice!

Haha, yes, and I knew I'd offend someone !

But, I'll admit if I had to live in one of the places I mentioned, and could choose, it would be Swindon ... there we go, there's a bit of an endorsement for the place.
