:D
I have two favourite amps at my desposal at this time.
One is a 70s WEM Dominator outfitted with a (don't laugh) EV12L!
That amp (with a MXR micro amp in front gives AC30s a run for their money-seriously!
New to the Makor stable is a Roland Cube 80X.
This is a digital amp.
Before you all go running for them there hills, allow me to assure you that this diminutive little beastie sounds fabulous.
I played last night at a great jam in Oldham, Lancs with two other guitarists using AC30s.
Of course, their sound and projection was superb.
Who can argue with the sound of a tone generator such as a Vox, but I have to tell you they were silenced when i cranked my little baby up!
The tone, effects and ballsy nature of this amp blew them away.
Shimmering quality cleans with an assortment of overdrives to pass away for!
I've owned many types of amps including the truly terrible Line6 Spider.
Although this is digital, it responds just like your boogie, vox, marshall or fender.
It's more powerful and lighter than most and built like a brick shite house!
When used with guitars fitted with Bare knuckle pickups, you are sure to find that elusive tone, but this time, without the fuss.
It records directly with sick tone and dynamics and theres a line out, and mp3 aux in to practice your licks to.
Yummy.
I know there's a certain vibe which is tangible with valve amps.
However, it may be time to start thinking of breaking down our prejudices regarding technology and realising theres a credible alternative at last.
Your thoughts on a postcard!
