odd - definately.

i dont see much innovation going on.  the extra room for bending  will help with some things just as much as it hinders other styles... so i reckon a standard neck is still the better choice over this

so its based on the idea its easier for the human hand to pull the strings down than push them up... but doing either is well within the capabilities of the average human hand so unless you actually had strength/health issues in your fretting hand its a non-issue

that can't image that neck being good for some styles. like if you just wanna thrash power chords out its gonna be weird sliding up that fella having you hand forced round, or opened up as you go. meh.

I didn't like the way he referred to the first frets as rhythm and the high frets as lead. Seems a bit limiting to me. What If i want to play an octave riff high up the neck? The riff to cherub rock by the smashing pumpkins comes to mind.

What happens if you want to use the bridge pickup with the wide bends?
What about if you want to bend on the lower frets? no real advantage I guess

You can bend the high e/b and play notes on adjacent strings though. Something you cant do on a normal guitar.

But I'm very much in the it-takes-away-far-more-than-it-gives camp on this. And yeah, badger, I didnt like that either.

I don't buy the argument that it's easier/more natural to pull the strings down rather than push them up.  I've always felt more comfortable and more in-control bending the high strings upwards.  I guess it's a case of what you're used to, though.

The only real innovation is the ability to bend the high E and have the B or G strings still ringing, I'm sure someone could do something interesting with that.  But is it worth the bother?

as they would say on Dragons Den - he's created a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

i think its silly. most players like to have the thumb over the neck to bend and surely having that massively wide board would make that difficult, particularly for players with smaller hands. it looks about as wide as a 7 or 8 string, and surely having one or two extra strings brings more possibilities than an enlarged empty fretboard. some interesting things could be done from being able to bend downwards, letting other strings ring and so on but i really don't think it justifies the sacrifice in playability. the body shape looks a bit like a parker fly...

In one way it excels, easily making the top ten of the world's ugliest guitars.

It's a parker with a fat arse! However I can see some benefits to having the strings bending away, but on the whole I think we guitarists are a pretty staid bunch and I doubt the company will be in business long.

The only thing I like about it is the Baby Grande bridge.

And the fact he reminds me of Russell Crowe.
