Thanks. The photos are not touched up or doctored: the sunsets are that mindblowing and Lake Tahoe does look Carribean turquoise blue and is very clear. Every time I go there I am amazed.

To answer a few questions:

I slightly emphasize the winter because that's my favorite time of year. We have 15 ski resorts/mountains and we get passes to Mt Rose and Squaw Valley every year.

The ski season is November to June and occasionally July. But those first and last months it the highest peaks and we often hike up to ski. I moved here for skiing; it's my passion.

The spring/summer when it's green are from April until Sept or October.  The spring and especially the fall are very short; it's actually like there's a fall for a month.

The neat thing is in the spring or  late winter you it's warm enough at the base that you can ski and play golf, hike, tennis, fish, ATV/four wheel, ride horses, whatever you like.  Lake Tahoe is pretty cold and gets barely warm in July and August. River rafting is mostly May through August.

I live about 12 miles from the nearest supermarket or minmall and about 25 minutes from downtown Reno. It's a bit of a pain in the ass but it's worth.  The sunsets , deer pics, and porch deck pic are all take from my house.

The river hucking pics off the train bridge and cliffs are at Farad into the Truckee River; about 30 minutes from my house.

Didn't Steve Vai have a place near there?

I remember him saying in an interview that he went swimming in lake Tahoe in winter (brrrr) and I think the video for For The Love Of God was shot in that area.
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon
And I'm coming home

My favourite place to go skiing!

The company I work for is based in San Jose (and, yes, I do know the way....) - any visits from the UK between late November and the end of March generally include a run up to Tahoe - about a 4-5 hour drive but well worth it!

I have passes to Rose and Squaw but ski Squaw 90% of the time.  Maybe we can huck some cliffs together.

My g/f and I took most of the pics; friends took the photos of me skiing.

Hope you don't mind me saying, but in picture no 7 there was some pretty interesting landscape too.
