i've got my Cpig in a damn bright guitar and they sound - surprise! - bright. but absolutely brutal. BUT i've got an Apig in a les paul studio that's not the brightest thing on earth and it sounds massive but absolutely clear... clearer than in a basswood RG. to downtune in C i'd choose a brighter guitar or a brighter pickup, though... PK?

Yeah I was thinking the painkiller as well, the miracle man might not provide enough clarity with saturation at such low tunings.

Thanks
Rob

Miracle Man bridge is silly tight - surgical. Got one that, when I get the cash together, is going to get swapped out for a C-Pig.

Admittedly it sounds better tuned to B standard then it did at E standard.

which kind of woods was it?

and to the leg question, I'm not too educated on that, but I used a long legged one for my pigged Ibanez Saber and its a very thin guitar. Not sure the leg length matters but I got long just incase.

Rob

Sorry for the delay. Got the MM in a mahogany Blackmachine that is tight as itself. C-Pigs win, A-Pigs do too... ;)
A-Pig 7s, Miracle Man & Mule, Cold Sweats... Expensive kit and no talent posse.

Got a C-Pig in a DK2M RGF (alder body, bolt on maple/maple neck) .. and i love it to bits. very versatile beast. it doesn't do jazz, but it does a LOT of things. turn the volume down and use sensible levels of gain and it'll do blues. turn it up and tune it low and it'll do the brutalest stuff you can imagine!

Got an A-Pig in a basswood Charvel Fusion Deluxe (maple/rosewood neck).. this one in parallel, WILL do jazz :D. it's paired with a Trilogy Suite in the neck and currently waiting to be finished (scalloping the neck .. still .. and repainting the body pearly white)

wow black machine? Those are so badass. How does she sound and play? I've heard nothing but good things about blackmachine, aside from the wait time haha.

-To Davey-is there a huge difference between the two aside from the tightness? I think I've read that the DC resistence is a little bit lower in the C-pig, not that its a huge difference, just wondering

I'm looking into something incredibly explosive and destructive that could be more sinister than Christopher Walkens style of acting (totally badass)

I guess you want something with more cowbell then
a custom battlecattle maybe?
