roflol I knew it wouldn't last long but that's gotta be a record, sweet guitar though - the extra cut suits the sg style a lot more than the paul - doesn't look so out of place.

Since its a kinda odd wood I think some clips would be in order sir  :D is it a bit like a maple body soundwise?

Nope, not like maple.  I'd say it more like a solid rosewood body, but without the weight you'd think it would have....

i agree its nothing like maple really, quite a bit more complex than that - much more usable.  although the weight does vary and it can be quite heavy.  I have an alnico 8 bridge pickup in my solid paduak guitar and it works quite well.  bright in a really nice way, never harsh

i love working with paduak but the dust is bright orange and makes you look like you have had a bad fake tan

like teh styling on this too - it really suits the SG vibe

yeah, used it a few times - its all turned brown in the end... i have been told by some N4 enthusiasts that the faded paduak look is truly wonderfull and i should cherish it... but my paduak guitar is now matt black ;)

although i do have a purpleheart neck blank thats a proper purple colour - and has been that way for a few years.  its unlike any other purpleheart i have worked with!!!

Well the guitar arrived yesterday, around 2:30pm here at work.  I left at 4:30pm, by 5:30pm I was back home and had fitted straplocks, and by 7pm it was at the rehearsal rooms  :)

It's another superb guitar, as I expected.  Martin wasn't so sure about the Tone Zone in this one, he prefers it in the Singlecut, but I really like it in both guitars.  It's punchy and zingy with LOADS of wallop.  Having the same pickup in both gigging guitars means the amp settings will suit either of them, so I think I'll leave it there.

The only downside, as with all SG types, is that it's a little bit neck heavy.  I was using one of my slippiest straps though, so one of my regular grippy leather ones has just been ordered.  Problem solved.

All in all, another top result and full marks to Mr Paul Richardson.  This guy knows his onions....

A shame indeed. I would love to give them a go!

I do want an SG at some point in the future - this one looks good, and I don't mind the bit at the bottom.
I think I hate being indecisive.
