Think my current Vox wah is nackered, keeps having intermittent feedback problems. Have tried to diagnose and failed so I think I'm just gonna give in and buy a new one. The "true bypass" (which clearly isn't) is actually pretty awful on it as well so I might as well make an upgrade.
Generally I like the sound of the Vox, it goes wah and that's all I need! Only things I would change if possible are that it could do with a bit of a volume boost (tends to dip a little I think) and also have more presence/cut - more midrange or something perhaps. Also there isn't a lot of definition or range in the lower travel of the pedal, it's only when you get about halfway up it starts to open up and properly wah. So I was looking at the new Vox V847 which apparently has a buffered bypass and also a standard 9v psu input. Anyone tried these and is the buffered bypass as good as or better than true bypass?
Have also been thinking about getting a BYOC kit to just drop into the old vox shell, do they sound good?
