So well, Santa came a bit late but I won't hold it against him: look what I found in my shoes:

1980 Gibby SG standard, not stock (but that's ok), well used (needs a refret but that's still ok, got it a bit cheaper because of this so I can afford the refret job) but not abused, and
really good sounding - punchy, nervous, lotta growl on power chords, singing leads with notes that bloom while sustaining. Swapped my (recently BKP'ed, duh) Vox Standard 25 and a few more bucks for it and I don't regret it, it's really the "missing link" - between the Vox Custom 24 and the Tele - I was looking for. Been trying a few SGs (new and used) recently and this one is amongst the best I've played - the only one that was clearly better was a €2500 custom shop model.
