Download the linked file with the images from the BBC page, I think I may have been in one of those shops...

I was going to reply (as a joke) "I bet that's where Music Ground have been getting their stock.." - sounds like was too close to the truth!

Regarding the theft of the 157 guitars from Italy - how could anyone seriously expect to get away with that? It's not like the owner will just shrug his/her shoulders and say oh well, there goes my entire vintage guitar collection. The guitars were always going to end up getting traced through the internet.

The big problem is that the new "owners" will lose the guitars (when they're traced) as legally they don't own the instruments. Then they have to bring a civil case against whoever sold the stolen kit. All very messy and unpleasant.

Also - you would think that someone offloading so much through one outlet would raise a few 'questions'...

if it is music ground which it certainly does look like the vintage section in the now closed leeds one

all they had up there was vintage stuff

i think the lowest priced guitar whilst not vintage was a gibson explorer voodoo that was £1699 everything else was £2k+

In related news my facebook has been going daft with updates today about a thief being traced. A guy had nicked a guitar from a gig and after some cctv and pleading for help he was found and transpired to be a guy from another band. Nice chap.

I'm really glad they caught whoever it was. Total lowlife. I was always very very cautious about leaving my guitars unattended when I was gigging. Luckily I never had anything happen to them but it was a constant worry.
I think I hate being indecisive.
