In my opinion a tele for metal is just a no go both soundwise and imagewise its just wrong.

And before anyone posts pics of Hetfield with a tele that was on a rock album :P

So yeah anything but a tele for metal!

Go and sit in the corner with Roo

Haha i don't dislike teles that much i just think they are wrong for metal

I had the Jim Root tele (maple board) and it was great for metal. I sold it to get a PRS but if I was playing strictly metal, I would of stuck with the Jim Root Tele. You get a LOT of guitar for the money.

just get a Flying V bruv, the 'shred V' has a whammy. Loads of the read routed '84 models were fitted with them too. there was also an epiphone gothic model with one too :)

As documented in the enormous, boring thread I posted last night, I went from a Tele to a V and loved it, so backing this suggestion.

God I wish there was such a thing as a white SG custom with just two pickups. I'd be all sorts of all over that.

one of these?
Tell you what, reckon they've missed a trick there by not using a regular Tele scratchplate and positioning the vol. knob so it sits in the semicircular indent normally occupied by the control plate.

I think he means white, not antique white. Furthermore SGs don't move me, EXCEPT for antique white, 3 PU ones :o

1. OUCH. My bank balance is getting sore just looking at that.

2. Getting there, but it still has a silly wobbly tailpiece thing.

I don't think it's the entire point, is it?  But you're right, not everyone has to look like Kerry King.
