destroy your kitchen!

Decided to try tweaking my mini Avenger thingy. I put a bigger output transformer in this recently and stuck in some EL34's to replace the 6V6's. It won't do 50watts because the voltages haven't increased, but it is louder. By how much... in theory approaching 30watts.
I tried to change some values of different resistors and caps, reduce the negative feedback a little, some other stuff. Didn't really like the results. I did however wire the 1st gain stage as a parallel stage again but this time It has a 120K anode and 820R cathode resistor (rather than parallel resistors of the same value). The grid stop at the input is still 68K, which means there should be some roll off since the input capacitance of this stage is now doubled. It did sound good with the stock 220K anode and 1K8 cathode... but probably way to much gain right at the input. hopefully I can give it a test... and probably tidy up... tomorrow.
Also managed to give myself a belt of the old 240v. soldering at 11pm after a 10.5 hour shift on 3 hours sleep following on from another 10.5 hour shift is now in my list of 'bad' ideas.
