Could be hard work.... it's been under my bed (with all those Warmoth necks  :wink: ) untouched for about 10 years, when I last saw it the finish had reacted with the lining of the case  and gone all mottled (guitar cellulite?).  God knows what it looks like now.  I also foolishly fitted a Kahler in place of the original strings-through-body hardtail bridge (well it was 1985!)

Maybe try a Power Jet? It's the same as a Duo Jet but with the extra oomph of the TV Jones PowerTron pickups.

After browsing around the Gretsch site, I really don't think anything's going to grab me.  They're all a bit too Gretsch-y for my liking!  :lol:

A PRS DGT could be a nice trem alternative to my ME/PS as they're all basically McCarty models, so I'll add that to the list too.  An early Hamer could be just the ticket too...

HTH - yep, I've had a Vee.  Didn't get on with the shape  :(

I don't like the extra volume knob on the DGT, but everything else about it is cool.

I'm not either Phil, but they get raved about as tone machines.  Plus the early ones have full nitro finishes and I've never had a goldtop...

I was beginning to think this was another 'ugliest guitar' thread judging by the monstrocities posted so far (firebird excluded).
so what about a Yamaha sg 3000 or one of the upper end models.look great, sound great, made v.well, lots of versitility
with the single/humbucker switching.(maybe the first guitars to offer this ?)
