Starved. The ones we've built so far ran from 12v, we've just make a new power board for that one (it's not assembled yet). 9v in, regulated 6v for the heaters, 18v for the buffer and 40v for the plates. We'll be running a 12AU7A in there. A 12BH7 would draw double the current and seeing as we're already doubling that by running the heaters at 6v rather than 12v we'd be looking at a 600mA draw for the heaters alone. Which is getting a little excessive from the perspective that we're trying to make this one so it'll run off a Jonny Shredfreak PSU with plenty of grunt to spare.
Mainly it's an experiment as the biggest problem we have with the valve pedals is the brick of a PSU needed to run some of them. That and I'm trying to get to the stage where I can run all my regular pedals from a pair of JS PSUs instead of the 4 different ones I have chucked behind the amp at the moment.
As for what it is, it's this (that's the schem for running from 12v, heaters would be wired differently for 6v):

We run the buffer from a klone after it.
Our take on a valve caster (pisses all over one from a great height IMO). Though it's really only for low wattage single channel amps (like my Goldstar). It's just like having a stompable crunch channel. Possibly my favourite pedal.
