Talk to me about the A-pig in a basswood Ibanez RG.

I did go with the C-bomb but so far while it is super tight and does have a unique voice.......I find it a little "2D" sounding. I had a Duncan Custom in it earlier and to tell you the truth it sounded better to me. The feel was a little looser but the guitar had more balls and was more expressive. Given the tight nature of BKP's is the A-pig still tighter than the Duncan?  I like the Alnico sound in actives so perhaps I would in the A-pig??

And I like the supercharged attack of actives so maybe the A-pig could do some of that? I hated the Pain Killer.....and to me the C-Bomb is somewhat similar to the MM I used to have.

I use an Apig in my RG7321. Sounds decent, but theres not that much attack in the sound. The Cpig does that job a little better

Does it have any tightness. I see you prefer the PK which I don't so maybe for me it might work? I don't like bright screamy pickups....

it has enough tightness for pretty much anything, if you need to tighten it up a bit more, then boost it with a tube screamer.

I have an Axe-FX and can dial any tightness I need really. I do like the C-pig better in your clips thanks.

That's another consideration. I gotta say though I haven't been impressed with the low end of the MM, PK, and C-bomb thus far. I keep reading these impressions about the great low end of BKP's.....haven't heard it in person yet.....to me so far the BKP's I've tried lack low end. So when I read about Warpigs having too much bottom end.....I think for me they may be just enough.....

When you say the Miracle Man lacked low end for you then the Alnico Nailbomb is out - it has less low end. I agreee that the Warpig is then the only BKP left which could possibly do what you want.

Never played a Duncan Custom but the general comment on these seems to be that it is a very midscooped pickup. If that is true, a heavy midscoop can make it appear to have a lot of low end.

Indeed - all BKPs I played so far are very tight in the low end - which is why I like them. The low end to me is the least important part of the guitar sound (that's why you have bass players in the band :)).

It's hard to explain I guess. I just need more fullness and power in the low end than what I have experienced so far. So yeah the Warpig is pretty much last on my list to try.  And trust me this also has to do with the weaker sounding tonewood in the RG Prestige. I wouldn't be so interested in powerful lows with some of my heavier guitars. They already provide their own kick respectively......

Ironically I own a BRJ Hesperian 6 so I kind of know that makeup/sound/feel of his guitar. Very helpful that video.....

I've always thought that in bright piece of wood, the A-pig sounds plenty tight. I have one in my beloved Tele, and it sounds perfect. But since basswood is slightly more "neutral" sounding wood, my gut feeling tells me the C-pig might be a tad better.

pickup height affects a lot the low end
I had my riff raff in a prs for a while, and couldn't set it low cause the screws were short
it was bassy as $%&# close to the strings
