Folks,
I am looking for suggestions on 2 things.
1) What is the best configuration for my DGT to achieve sounds like on a CU24 Plus having single coils alone.
2) Which are the best suited for this BK pickups. They have to sound full and chimey/straty on Split parallel AND single coil sounds PLUS be able to deliver great humbucker sounds. I hear that asymmetrical pups are best? and a magnet needs to be flipped? The net is overwhelming me with options and wanted to set this straight.
My goal is to keep a 3 way toggle configuration if possible in order to easily flip from neck to bridge in a solo.
I have found a diagram that allows for the a Dimarzio 3 way EP1111 switch and a 5 way 4 pole rotary from stewmac that enables you to have the 3 way for selecting:
1) Full humbucker neck (on up postion of toggle)
2) Rotary switch with any of the 5 sounds selected (parallel, etc) be engaged in the middle position of the toggle,
3) full humbucker bridge in the 3rd toggle position.
But there is NO coil tapping for single coil sounds. Is there a way to keep the push pull tone knob for split tones with the above config? or a better way to achieve getting single coils alone + single coils in parallel (inner and out) + humbuckers that involves less wiring and adding a 5 way rotary?
I've seen a 6 position toggle switch from guitar electronics dot com but not sure if it will allow me to do all I need on its own. it says it is a 2 pole.. is that mean no splits in parallel?
I'd really appreciate someone's knowledge to achieve this as my DGT feels like needing an upgrade of pups and tones...miss the strat in between tones... and want different pickups because the neck is too boomy on the DGT and bridge is too bright to my taste. Can use a more modern sound too.
thanks all!
