It's a Chrome issue (well actually it's an SSL issue that Chrome is rightly obeying - we're looking at it.

We are still looking into where these files are referenced over http instead of https, but in the meantime there is a workaround.

Workaround 1: In Chrome, when you load the forum page, in the address bar there is a little shield on the right hand side. Click this and it will tell you there is insecure content. If you want, you can press "load anyway" - it should remember it for this site, and then display a red https with a line through it on the left hand side.

Workaround 2: Use another browser. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari.)

I personally don't like to fix what ain't broke. The old site was clearer. This is the fashion everywhere though (to update for no reason)
No offence to those who put in the work for the new 'look'

+1

that being said I do quite like the new layout, it's very slick looking. the only slight criticism might be it's not quite as easy to make out as the old one, since everything is more or less a different shade of grey. But that's a minor complaint, the new forum looks good. :)

Yeah, I discovered that last night.  Works fine, but I feel uncomfortable having the red https with a line through it!

Are these changes going to get rid of those silly bots once and for all?

My only dislike from this morning (read/unread topics being hard to distinguish due to the colour used for the link) no longer exists as the topic link colour has moved to a creamy yellow.  Much better.

Once and for all? Probably not.
Until they work their way around the latest anti-spam measures, Yes.
I haven't enabled all of them yet, but there are other measures to enable if the spam does start to appear.

Looks good!
As mentioned above, one thing that would be better would be to have the unread thread titles in a different colour to the read ones, not just bold/not bold.  At the moment I'm finding it harder to distinguish than it should be.  Maybe I'm just lazy.

Its probably been said, but here's my observations...

* drafting messages (such as when I write this) isn't easy on the eye - light grey text on dark grey background.  Suggest white text pretty please.
* same deal once the message is posted - white text on grey background, tough to read.  Suggest darker background.
