Arrived: awesome piece of kit, about bloody time..

http://morpheusefxsite.abff.stackablehost.com/droptune.php

Now, these things seem to divide peeps..

there's bad rep for them on TGP, HC and RT. Mostly from people who're repeating what they've been told and never played one.. I have on multiple occasions, just never got round to buying one.

The bad rep is this, they sound warbley and processed, there's high latency etc etc.

This is true, but and this is a big but, it only occurs AFTER a drop of more than 2 tones, most of the people bitching are , as stated, the hearsay crowd or, people who want it to work at the extremes of it's capabilities, like those who want to have standard tuning and drop down to A.

Here's the important part, for someone who likes to keep their guitars in standard (me, like the feel, drop tunings haven't worked for me in a long time) and are only looking to drop a 1/2 or full step for the odd song, they are perfect. they sound awesome. they do not sound processed, there is no latency, none of the above problems at this level.

works good for chords as well as single notes

Unfortunately the dude who owns the company died and they seem to be out of production, the website is dark if you try to access from google, i believe the link is a cached page or summat. I had to phone 8 different shops today to get one of these, and those 8 where the ones showing stock. there were a multitude of other google hits for shops saying no longer available..

not everyones cup of tea, but i think its a great pedal and i'm 100% chuffed to have nabbed one of the last new ones. and the shop i got it from was doing it £15 cheaper than everywhere else

Ive been thinking about getting 1 of these as 1 of my bands plays all songs in Eb.

I know the obvious thing is to have certain guitars in Eb, which I do, but I dont want to limit myself to what guitars I can use with the band

What shop did you get yours from?

place called hot rox uk, and that was the 8th place i called.. and was also the last they had.. they're getting scarce new. for some reason all the reps say there's some coming in on the 31st of march, so maybe they will. but if the website is down and the guy is dead.. seem to be a couple on ebay at ok prices

Heard a lot of good things about this, dude, congrats on the score! I wonder if anyone will pick this up again after the founder's sad, untimely demise. I hope they do, it would be a shame for the knowledge, research and development to go to waste.

I have heard a lot of good things about these. I have considered getting one in the past which seems like a great idea until I just retune and realise it takes all of about 5 second

I do like things that let me be lazier though.

Currently I've been messing with the pitch shifter on the G major with surprisingly good result for half a step either way so my guitar is currently in Eb which nets me three tunings of course.

Enjoy! and give us a full report later on.

weighs in on tuesday, but i've play tested one of these a bunch of times, so i know what i'm getting, just one of those things you never get round to buying cos you assume it'll be there next year lol

i wouldn't minds the retuning thing, just doing it quickly, but this thing also works if your trems are floating, which a few of mine are ;)

well there's a second hand one on the bay just now for about £80, new between £135 and £150, and am sure there's more sitting in shops waiting to be had :)
