So...I'm now a married man

Greeting Forumites

After 7.5 happy years (not saying they'll be my last  ) and a decimated bank balance, I'm now a married man.

After 2 weeks sunning myself (and dodging the tail end of Hurricane Barbara) in mexico, i have returned to blighty and was greeted with an email from the photgraphers saying that they've updated their blog with lots of photos (http://www.bigbouquet.co.uk/photography/wiltshire-wedding-trafalgar-park-salisbury-2/2013/06/#comments)

Can't say that after 3 weeks i'm happy to be back at work, but i have plenty of great memories from the wedding, including the band ripping through Little Wing and Hallelujah and giving me SG gas and plenty more memories to make.

Best part is that as my gorgeous wife couldn't track down the Iron Maiden signature guitar on ebay, she's taking me to see Iron Maiden play the Hallenstadion in Zurich next Saturday (7th son is my favourite album and was release the day after i was born)

Any film buffs among you may recognise the house (which isn't up north as the film suggests)

I am a film buff, especially horror movies, but I must admit I couldn't place the house, it just looked "sort of familiar".

Yeah I'm guessing the house doesn't turn up in any horror films, philly. It looked sorta familiar to me, too, and i guessed one of the austin adaptations. I was right :D

On the horror front, it actually turns up in 28 days later (with added barbed wire and landmines) the mural painted room in the photos is where cillian murphy does his dissapearing act during the lightning flashes!

I'd say i'm slightly further from the edge, but thats only because i dont have a wedding to worry about anymore

They are indeed, not the gauge i usually use, but i think they were chosen for the aesthetic rather that practical uses

The band were really good, they're called "The Jukeboxes" and have a really good repertoire from the 50's onwards (although they did mainly 70's onwards at the wedding)

the strangest thing was that the guitarist has really great tone from a Tiny Terror (GAS acquired) and a 1x12 harley benton with a v30 in it (i remember the important things :))

That's encouraging, I've got a Tiny Terror and an Orange 1x12 with (I think) a V30.  Can't claim to get a great tone, but it's not bad by my standards.

EDIT: regarding the tiny terror, i remember trying one in a shop once and not being too fussed, and then someone tried it after me and it sounded really good. So (a) obviously i suck (that's the main thing :oops: ) and (b) just because someone else sounds good through it doesn't necessarily mean you'll like it :lol:

I sound terrible through just about every amp I've ever owned or tried - the guitar plays a part too of course - so when I got the TT and it sounded half decent straight away, it was really quite a surprise.  :lol:

I think the simplicity of the controls helps a lot, it defeats my natural ability to dial in the worst possible sound from any piece of equipment.  :|
