Strange how your experience of the Emerald bridge was quite different to mine. I certainly found it thick and with great tone but also rather bright.

The Mule neck is too vintage for me and I've never fancied a Riff Raff but I think Cold Sweats and Rebel Yells might suit you based on what you've just said.
Actually, I've been thinking about a rebel yell set. Would that be reasonably thinner than an Emerald set, sort of to tame the natural "fatness" of that guitar?
Basically, the way I see it, my options right now seem to be

Rebel yell set
Riff raff bridge / Riff raff  neck
Riff raff bridge / Mule neck

I really liked the A4 attack and compression of the Emerald neck, just needed something with a less thick tone.
Vh2 bridge OTOH was close to perfection. But I'd want a slightly different flavor for the Marsden. Maybe even a bit brighter and slightly thinner than the Vh2
Owned past BKP models: VH2 set, Mule set, 10th Anniversary set,  Emerald set

Have you also considered an Abraxas? It's basically a hot Mule that has a bit more mids and is a bit fatter but I doubt that would be excessive and it has the AIV magnet you like. If you want a thinner neck pickup, you may also look at a Holydiver neck. Don't let the name fool you, it's quite a vintage wind and is both brighter and thinner than many. The Rebel Yell neck is very similar, just a bit darker, thicker and hotter.

Thats the first time ive heard the emerald neck and it sounds amazing! I really liked the lead tones I seem to want the opposite to you when it comes to riffs though I want the biggest fattest (but still tight) sound possible.

Slightly thinner and brighter: RiffRaff-set.
The Rebel Yells are quite bright too, but have a lot of midrange. Not too much bass.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
