So, I've just got my SG back from Jonathan at Feline the other day. The missus and nipper are visiting her parents for a few days tomorrow, so I have the house to myself. Perfect time to make some noise and break the plank in with some recording you would think?

But, no! I've only gone and sliced up the pad of my left-hand middle finger whilst clearing out some junk in the garage.

If it's not healed up by Wednesday, I'm trying the superglue technique...

You cover any cuts with superglue, which then goes rock hard so you can do the gig without ripping it open and getting blood all over your nice shiny guitar. ;)

Superglue's actually quite widely used as an emergency suture. Was first used in Vietnam IIRC, and is quite useful for sealing a wound in conditions where bandages would just come off.

you basically squeeze the skin together (like doing a "butterfly" ) and then glue.
Very effective in combat sits. etc. as Muttley says.

superglue was developed pretty much for the reason to keep soldiers from leaking blood. its non toxic and binds skin rather well. im sure it was developed for WW2, or possibly vietnam. its also useful if you are a slap bassist and rip a hole in a finger :lol:

The only thing usefull for a slap bass player is the off button! LOL *Runs for cover*. No offense bass players, its not your fault that you didn't get on with the guitar. *Leaves room*

As a bass player there is no offence taken by me- I dislike slapping and popping on bass. Mark King was technically excellent but he had a lot to answer for in my view. I like nice thick creamy melodic bass with a smattering of funk- think Willy Weeks or Kenny Gradney or Ronnie Lane (and even Ron Wood). If the pop and slap fraternity cut their fingers it serves them bloody well right- there we go, rant over ( and yes I can do it but choose not to).

Sorry I must explain. I was in a band for a very long with a bass god ..who never knew when to shut up!!! Seriously funny when the soundman asks him to do a sound check and G plays something quiet and borring and the soundman say's"Got anything a bit punchier mate" and my collegue unleashs a torrent of low frequency abuse!!!LOL LOL LOL
