GAS is striking again :)

The Albert Lee HH (Mahogany body, full Rosewood neck, hardtail) sounds amazing with the RY in the bridge, but I'm thinking I could use a little more growl. Output is fine: maybe just a bit lower mids/bass.

Alternatively, a pickup with more muscle AND output will be fine too ;)

I was close to going for a Crawler but man that pickup sounds HUGE, and it may lack a little treble for the AL, a rather smooth sounding guitar (where a Strat is on the snappier end of the spectrum).
Nailbomb is too modern/powerful sounding... and that's about where my BK knowledge for humbucker stops these days!

Any ideas? Thanks!

I felt the same about the ry bridge and swapped for a hd instead.
Yes the voice maybe slightly different but it does hit the spot for me.
Would I still like a touch more bass still? Yes.

Having never tried an a bomb I am not in a position to give an opinion. I hear it's essentially the ry bigger brother.
I have a cbomb and can say to me they are a world apart.

I did some comparison vids in my signature below earlier vids use a model amp, later vids use a tube amp so take that in consideration.
(bypass opinions on my sjit playing tho)

I assume you have, but just to make sure: Have you played around with the height of the pickup? With all BKPs, but especially the RY that makes a huge difference, especially in the low end.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

A-Bomb for sure.  Such a fun pickup!

Now, you could try a heavier weight of strings or mess with the height of the pickup but the A-Bomb will give the extra bit of weight in the lows / low mids along with a really raw and pissed off tone.  It has slightly more output and more hair / thickness to the tone.  It has a really lively treble with lots of pick dynamics, just like the Rebel Yell.  The Rebel Yell has more harmonices, but the A Bomb has more treble and cut, as well as a a phatter tone with more hair.  It's super fun to play!!
