last january my 26 year old brother got punched by an old man.

you see i my bro came to see me at work because we were going out that night, and he said he would pop round to mine at bout 7pm.

so while he os there, this random guy walks into the grounds of the lodge and says we are tresspassing, so i said, 'i work here you idiot, your the one who's 'tresspassing' '

so my bro said 'who are you anyway?'

he replied 'i'm kieth buckley and i do child photography'

bro says 'that sounds wrong'

kieth says 'you're tresspassing'

SMACK!

right in the face!  of course he couldn't hit him back, as well as not liking vilence he was just some silly old man.

we couldn't help but laugh as he was ringing the police and dodging punches from so old geezer.

when the police man got there he told the old man to go home or he would probably get done for ABH........but not without laughing.

Sigh.  Old people these days.  They just don't know their place.

I had some old guy nearly crash into me on the road the other day, so I honked at him to let him know I was there and he was gonna hit me.  His white-haired wife looks out the window and gives me the finger!    I should have run the old gits off the road.

Chav's are just "Boy racers" for the year 2000, or "Kevs" as we used to call them.
Willo, I am glad that you got away with it mate, I have a similar story(dont we all). I was at college and walking through town(middle of day) when 2 brothers notoriously known, "The Hicks"  shoulder barged me nearly into the road, so I turned around around and stupidly told him to feck off....whoops  . They both were on me in what seemed like seconds and had me against the wall threatining all sorts and as you do I refused to back down, even though I had no chance, but fortunatley for me a sierra pulled up and the bloke inside wound down the window and told them to put me down, they told him to dissapear, so he got out of his car ...with a hammer!!!! . He was bigger than either of them. I dont know what happened after that because he told me to get going.
I felt some sort of twisted justice that day. Even now though as an adult with a wife and 2 kids I get the twitch if I see anyone slightly dubious looking in the street but then but then a lot of time and other things have passed since then and I know what I am capable of also.

I remember looking after some stuff one night and my friend had a pair of pliers as a weapon.  Seriously, pliers.

I ALWAYS carry a dildo... not as a weapon but it's always good to have a dildo...

Better the have it and not need it than need it and not have it I always say..

A dildo could be useful if you find yourself in a position where you enexpectedly need to roll pastry. I have heard that you can get some quite decorative effects with a dildo.

Actually now I think about it, last year when my Dad was diagnosed and was in intensive care I was driving to the hospital with my mum (obviously stressed enough as it was), we were on a country road and 3 idiots were walking abreastwith one in our lane. Cars were coming the opposite direction so "going around" was not an option. My mum gently "peeped" her horn (as if they did'nt know she was there and they/he was in the way anyway) and this ASS*OLE turns around, starts giving my mum single fingure salutes with both hands, advancing on the car and then banging the bonnet.
The ONLY thing that stopped me getting out and either A. Going to Jail for SERIOUS damage to an ass*ole or B. going to hospital for trying to do damage was my mum. She grabbed me, told me NO and made me fear her retribution more than any other action.
But honestly, my mum is 73yo, grey haired and probably weighs about 120lbs dripping wet, what the hell is the world coming to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Willo sorry to hear about the hassles, it can really knock your confidence for six.

Having been glassed, teeth fractures and having my eye knocked out of its orbit it's a real bad feeling, but don't let them stop you from having a life, or disturb you for too long.

Kto lit areas (preferbly with CCTV around) and if nessicary cross the road well in advance of any dodgy looking characters.

As for martial arts here is what I have found :
judo you have to get in too close
Karate etc, you hurt yourself when you hit/kick people, and leave yourself open to assult charges

Akido is about the most useful, both legally and physically, as it's defensive only assult charges are very unlikely, plus you don't hurt yourself as you don't hit anybody.

You should bear the assult business in mind as I ended up with a GBH conviction when removing my brother in law from the house while he was being abusive towards my son (then 8 years old) and myself.

Admittidly I did thump him twice (well what do you do when a 40 year old man calls your 8 year old boy a bar-steward and worse, then won't leave the house). However when he grabbed me and I pushed him off, he went over on his ankle, and broke it. I was judged to have been irresponsible for pushing him off me and was found guilty of GBH.

Provocation dosn't appear to be examined in the court system these days so please be careful. This has resulted in having to cancel family plans to emigrate to Australia, and my job hunting prospects are fu**ed for the next 8 years.

Don't let yourself get into the same (or worse) position by carrying any perceived weapons, or getting all medieval on somebodys ass (even if they do deserve it).

Be aware at all times, and look after yourself,

Rob...
Goodbye London !
