What?? cBomb bridge no lead tone?
I've got exclusively cBombs in my 6 Caparison's and they rule in both rhythm and solo and I've gone through the bkp/lundgren/dimarzio/sd/emg/motor city pickups sortiment.
The clarity/dynamics/harmonics the cBomb brings to my guitars is unbelievable. For a high gain player I get petrucci/hetfield/vh sound and with volume control even play some blues/rock tones.
I often pair a neck with a reverse wound cold sweat and on my horus a dimarzio chopper.
Well, I didnt say that CBomb cannot play leads. What I say was that leads are the last thing that I like about CBomb, it could be my taste, Im not arguing but I would not pick up CBomb as the first for playing leads.
Don`t get me wrong, its a great pickup, I really like it for rhythm (Both hi-gain and more classic overdriven tones), cleans are really good for ceramic pickup as well.
The only downsides of CBomb that I noticed over last 2 years of using it are:
-lead work
-not extremely precise
-note separation is not great either, under distortion once you play chord and some harmonic fill underneath, everything becomes a little blurry.
To sum up, if you`re looking for bridge pickup having great leads in mind or you`re playing modern metal, Bullet for my Valentine style type of thing (with loads of fills under distorted chords), I would not recommend CBomb.
