I've been playing my 6505+ head for a couple of years now and I love it. Nice attack, endless gain and a low end thump that sounds great in drop c tuning.
On the downside, its very noisy being a high gain setup. I normally use the lead (red) channel with the pre-gain on 3.5/4 boosted with a tubescreamer and if I turn up some of the levels too high the guitar starts to feedback. This is tamed by an ISP decimator. I have a high output pickup (ceramic nailbomb) as well.
Been considering using the rhythm (green) channel with the crunch button pushed in and the pre-gain on 5/6 and also the tubescreamer to boost. Many say you get a punchier clearer tone that is on par if not better than the lead channel. With such a high gain pickup this may work out.
Do any of you use the 'crunch' channel on amp instead of the full on overdrive? I don't really do solos in this band so no need to really leap out in the mix. Just need to hear myself and sit nicely in the mids with the bass and drums.
