got to google and anter "define: hammock"

You also get this definination for hammock "An area where the ground level is raised above the level of the water."

In my days that was called either land or above water.

I wonder what the word to go along with this definition would be "An area where the water level is raised above the level of the ground."

The water would be on the  ground, hence the terms, sea, ocean, river, lake or even puddle.
