IF you read the thread though, it was straight into the soundcard, ie no EQ or anything.. Anyway my Behringer overdrive should be here tomorrow so if its any good I'll do a clip... if not I'm sending it back :P

look you spanner... straight into the soundcard means nothing... you still have to have an interface/program to record with... which can mean extra settings....

or at least i think you do :P

Yeah you can, but the guy says its the same setup etc just changed the pedals. And why would he change the EQ to make his Maxon sound shiteter than the Behringer? The clearer bypass is to do with the buffer in the Behringer pedal apparently..

maybe he didnt do it deliberately, just thought they were at a similar sound but werent... i dunno..

but they sound VERY DIFFERENT before the pedals are engaged... so if there is something different in the bypasses then the maxon one must be shite... which cant be right cause like mark said its true bypass right?

Yeah it is TB.. but the Behringer has buffered which makes it match the impedance of the socket he was plugged into or something.. I dunno but it does sound so much clearer and bright.

Well I've just listened to the bypassed sounds, and the type of difference between them is just like the difference between the sounds when they're switched on... :idea:

I can't see the B. being buffered as accounting for that difference unless the guy's got 2 miles of cable between the pedal and the amp.

hmm yeah true I just listened to em again.. I know what you mean. Whats weirder though is that they are both on neck pickup, but the Behringer sounds like its on a bridge pickup :?

I still dont understand why he'd make the Maxon sound shite like it does though.. it just makes me feel sorry for him that he spent 4x as much money on that pedal that sounds worse :lol:

and yer it sounds like bridge--->neck pup, like i said about my coil tap tom.... thats what the difference sounds like...

Well.. the TO800 arrived today, it sounds pretty damn good, especially for £20! Loads more usable gain than the TS7 I had, and it doesnt sound as muddy or bland either. I think its gonna stay on my board. It does have slight tone suckage, a bit less presence maybe but I cant complain for the price, I could make a small true bypass box for it sometime though I guess.

I'm doing a recording for indy later anyway so I'll post it up here :)
