I'm definitely no nu-metal dude (I'm 100% with Mr. Wylde's infamous comentary on this one :)), I'm more a classic heavy rock kinda guy, but I'm highly tempted by the Warpig for the bridge, since all the rhythm, lead, and clean samples of it in various styles that people have posted sound ace. I suck :) and have really sloppy technique ("unforgiving" pickups are not for me!) but I can slam out rhythm pretty decently (at home I tune usually down to D across the fretboard), so a pickup that plays to my strengths (such as they are) and won't overly highlight my weaknesses is very attractive, and the Warpig is all that. I especially like the way the 'pig cleans up, better than the MM I gather, and I dig the Alnico sound more than the ceramic sound (though were I a shredder, I've heard nothing that beats the Miracle Man!).
I've thought of pairing it in the neck with either an A5 MM (apparently the official Warpig neck anyway) or with an A4 Mule, but am hanging out to see what the Abraxas pups sound like (since I'm a huge sucker for Santanaish neck tones). Otherwise, the main competition for a bridge Warpig would be a Mule, since those clips also sound fabulous -- awesome "vintage plus a little" vibe. If I were a better player, I think I'd go for the Mule straight off since I think good technique would be shown off by the Mule to excellent advantage.
(I can't help but think the Black Dogs and Emeralds are being overshadowed by the attention given to the Mules, since what few clips I've heard of them sound pretty excellent, too -- perhaps when the more detailed product descriptions appear it will be easier to distinguish what's going on with the various models. There are so many shades of grey hiding between the twin poles of "vintage" and "modern high gain"!)
But I'm still saving my pennies, and hoping the Abraxas rolls out within the next few months to give me more to think about. (These decisions would be easier if I just had more guitars, but then my wife would kill me and I wouldn't get to play them anyway ;)).
