Masters of Reality: Masters of Reality

Is that the "Blue Garden" album?  Brilliant, one of the greatest rock albums ever, as far as I'm concerned.  I've been listening to it for 18 years and it never sounds dated.

That's the one. I bought it yonks ago myself but lost it moving house. It is a classic.

Reccently bought a 20Gig MP3 player cheap (a Creative Zen Sleek) and had to find some music to fill it with.

Due to the lack of what I would call 'good rock' and especially space rock (I hate catagorys) a lot of what I bought is re-release or a year or so old.

Recently bought & Enjoyed the following:
Nuggets 1 & 2 (6 cds of) late 60s Psych & Garage, and it's even better than I remember it.
The Bees : Free The Bees ; Proper Summer sounds
Gomez : How we operate ;  Typical untypical Gomez
Jah Wobble : I could have been a contender
The Mystey Jets : Making Dens
Robert randolph : Unclassified ; Amazing lap steel and so happy too.
Remmstein : Reise Reise ; Germans wih Humour excellent :)

Re Obtained :
Dread Zeppelin : Oh Yes
The Dukes of Stratosphear ; Had to buy it again
Syd Barrett ; All official releases (again)

Bootlegs :
A 4 Cd set of Warren Haynes cover versions (it's excellent)

CDs I'm waiting for or thinking about

Tool : 10,000 Days ; Heard a couple of tracks & loved it
Rooster : I heard bits of the new album in work today (bloody journalists) and it sounds like it may be worth buying.
Kasabian : Don't know if I like the current single but will probably buy the album.

I'm also waiting for Carlaz to release a Space Rock masterpiece across 12 CDs

It's called middle age I suppose.  Just recently I've been buying stuff by Roy Buchanan, Robin Trower and the Good Rats.

Little off topic but I accidently found this while looking to buy "That's what I am here for" but for those who don't know him.

Awesome!

Now that, young men, is what they mean when they say "it's all in the  fingers".  I'm proud to say I was at one of Roy Buchanan's very few British gigs (possibly his very last one?) at the Dominion Theatre in 1985.  There he was, a portly middle-aged man with a flat cap and a Tele, using the support band (Martin Stephenson and the Daintees) as his backing musicians - and he made the hugest guitar sounds I've ever heard in my life.

I don't listen to Roy all the time, but every now and then I get sick of the sounds of downtuning, dual rectifiers, digital modelling and ProTools - so I go back and hear what a guitar really ought to sound like.

Kilby, thanks so much for that link.  I've seen YouTube before but I never thought of searching for old music clips.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Ah Roy Buchanan- he was a player and a half-if anyone wants to know about dynamics then he is one to study- tragic end for such a talented man. Tele's are amazing guitars.
Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance

So far this year probably:

Colourblind by Chroma Key (ex-keyboarder guy from Dream Theatre)
10 000 Days by Tool
Now, Diabolical by Satyricon

Hasn't really been a wealth of quality releases so far this year imo.
