Well, still need to sell my MM Axis but managed to get few quid together.
My buddy/teacher needed cash even more so I just got an amazing deal on his Mesa!
Suffice to say I am overjoyed, this thing is a TONE MONSTER! Never had a Mesa before (bit pricey new at this juncture) but am LOVING this!

Explorer is off having a setup so not in pic but cannot wait to run it and it's custom Warpigs through this.

Now, just sell the Axis to put some MM's/Painkillers in the Petrucci. And then when go to (2nd) home in Texas in Oct./Nov. will probably bring my Gibbo LP back (leave Ovation/SG there for time being).

very funny Boyo

It's all in the gain/volume. Deafen em and it ALL sounds good

In truth, rythm is coming along real good, no aspirations to be a 'power shredder' anyways :)

Nice! Now you have the dilemma that we wish could face all of us - which amp to use for what situation?

_tom_, ummmmmmmmm, NO

As for which to use. Well, after very little time thus far I would have to say (cough, choke) the Mesa is alot easier to get 'nice' tones from. The definition is tremendous and the different modes (clean-raw/pushed, dirty-vintage/modern) make wonderful sounds easy. Have to say a seperate EQ for channels helps (thus ENGL gets abit of a by there).

Just need my explorer back (or get BKP's in the Pet) to put a 'real' pup through it for better clarrification.

Also depends on workout. Feeling tired then move the ENGL, feel like a workout, move the Mesa (omg the thing is HEAVY!).

After many hours of playing today, wel, all can say is ENGL is 'pouting'. The Mesa kicks some serious ASS with ALL the tone yet clarity you could want. Love It!

OK, sure know it's ok but will check anyway.
Mesa has speaker connected to 8ohm port on back and has 2 x 4 ohm ports. My ENGL cab is 16ohm. Whats best way to connect the two?

heh deafen em is my tactic..i like shred to listen to but i have no desire to spend 12hrs a day alt picking and learning arpeggio shapes!

a good riff and the odd bit of meedily meedily does nicely 8)

Cant help with linking cabs...alhtough the ENGL should be able to go through both depending on what the Mesa speakers are?

Your neighbours must LOVE you ;)

LOL, dunno bout neighbors, can't hear em shout anymore lol

Actually, lucky as nearest neighbor is bout 300ft away.

And have absolutely NO aspirations ever to be 'lead' guitarist. I actually do NOT like the widdly widdly bands/players/bands. Sure I admire them but do NOT like listening to it. I own 1 Satch album (well actually was given it :)) and thats it. My likes are more in the vein of Hetfield rythm/chug/licks and the likes of Stone Sour. Sure I LOVE Lizzy and Zep but not for playing. Remember am an ex. bass player so da beat is were i'm at

Was wondering about running the Mesa into the ENGL cab is all.

that one nice rig, nick. engl for bright tones, mesa for dark = sorted!

though I dare say you aren't being fair on the little screamer- it's half the price of that mesa (new prices, obviously)!

:drink:
