Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - 50th Anniversary Remix
OH MY GOODNESS

We took delivery of the 50th Anniversary Stereo remix by Giles Martin yesterday. It's AMAZING. I LOVE IT.
If, like me, you like the Beatles, but had always thought Sgt Pepper was pretty meh as an album - clever, yes, milestone, yes, etc etc ... but utterly boring and wimpy as hell - then you owe it to yourself to give this remix a little go...
Sgt Pepper is now a rock album!I actually can't wait to get home to listen to it again now... I've never felt like that over this album (I've owned the 1987 CD of the 1967 stereo mix since the early 90s, I've listened to it 2 or 3 times tops, compared to 100s for Revolver etc)
Warning, though, if you have fragile ear-drums(!) - the internet audiophile opinion seems split, with many up in arms saying "my ears bleed! It's too loud... I HATE it". Yes, all the instruments are compressed in the mix (like what the beatles used to do anyway!! DUH!) - everything louder than everything else (and sounds SO good for it in my opinion) - and the CD version has some extra limiting on it, allegedly, to make it louder...
