King's X.

I've got pretty much all of their stuff on random on my iPod and it suits every mood, from aggressive and heavy to spiritual and uplifting to introspective and thought provoking. I saw them live twice around 1989 (but sadly not since) and I've always been in awe of their sound.
IMO Doug Pinnick is one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.

Oh yes!  :D  One of my favourite bands, seen them 4 or 5 times which is very unusual for me.  I still buy the albums, but I've always felt they lost something when they split with producer/manager Sam Taylor after the 4th album.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

KING'S X

I try to see them once per year, as they always come around to NYC in the Summer. I've met them before and after gigs several times, and they've always been super nice and appreciative, signed my CDs, chatted gear, etc.

Live, King's X is just MONSTROUS; what Cream should have been. Seriously. The live version of Monajam blows away most other instrumental tracks, which usually feature flash over substance.

I've had Kings X on the ipod this week too, Gretchen Goes To Nebraska.

I saw them live at Brixton in 1989, on a mainly all thrash bill, with Anthrax headlining (same management or something) but they opened up and were fantastic.

Also got my JPT Scare Band Album Past Is Prologue at last from the states, it's very very good!
Warpig, MQ,
Miracle Man-Trilogy Suite, Cold Sweats, Black Guards, Rebel Yells & Irish Tours!

saw Kings X once in about 1991 or 2, supporting AC/DC.  i thought they were great, but typical Belfast crowd of the time, they got spat on. a lot.  those scummy people put me off going to gigs in Belfast for many years, and when i started again a couple of years ago i found that now the security people are all c**ts and instead of spitting, the pricks in the crowd throw coins!  i'm sticking with Dublin, even though it costs a fortune.

hmmm, rambled a bit there!  oh yeah, Kings X are great!

New Foo Fighters' album has been on the top of my most recent listening list, along with the new Arch Enemy disc and a lot of assorted Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson stuff.
Warpigs.

Down - Over the Under

High on Fire - Death is This Communion

Both excellent in their own right.
