Some Black Keys stuff on youtube. Haven't got any of their albums but think that situation might change soon!
I think I hate being indecisive.

... dug out the most amazing thing I hadn'd listened too in a long time: Mike Oldfields AMAROK - you gotta check this outm what he is doing with spanish guitar and wah etc (be careful with volume, as he has some pretty extreme dynamics in that record)
Tweaker's Paradise - Player's nightmare.

I can highly recommend all of them...... but especially Rubber Factory.

Personally I think they're probably the best band around at the minute
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Ave Maria - Andrea Bocelli by Caccini. I know most of you would have never heard of that, or listen to classical but there you go

I got the new Ayreon album (01011001) and it's not bad but I prefer The Human Equation.

I think the problem may well be that Arjen picked a group of singers who were very similar for the album whereas on THE they were all very distinctive.

Recommended to anybody after classically-inspired electronic folk metal set in space with a side order of cheesiness (Arjen is not the best lyricist but, writing out of his native tongue, he usually does quite well until you get to some of the really tenuous rhyming in there).

THE and 01011001 can't really be compared though as they are just different experiences entirely IMO.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

i'm listening to some more Witchfynde... the "Stage Fright" album. I really like the style of Montalo, the guitarist. He manages to stay metal, but does some pretty indie-ish guitar work at times. Creates a very full sound. I don't really learn other musicians songs, but I might have a stab at one of theirs just to learn some his tricks. Maybe the song 'In The Stars'... the main riff is so fu_ked up, i want to understand how it works

+1

I found that 01011001 suffered from the same problem as Universal Migrator and other earlier Ayreon albums.

The Human Equation would be very hard to replicate, and since it didn't really fit into the format of earlier Ayreon albums (it's more like Star One with added prog), I wasn't surprised at 01011001's fall from grace.

THE will always stand as one of my favourite progressive albums of all time, though.
