Sleep - Sleep's Holy Mountain. Way better than Dopesmoker, which I thought was a huge steaming pile of turd  Sorry doom fans, that album was awful and overrated imo.

I think there's something about Dopesmoker, it feels more complete than Sleep's Holy Mountain somehow.  I don't enjoy it exactly, but I like to listen to it a couple of times a year just for the experience.  Unless I'm pressed for time, then I listen to Jerusalem instead.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Nothing in Dopesmoker really caught my attention, I just thought it was incredibly dull. Prefer the more upbeat nature of Holy Mountain I think :)

Anyone heard the new leaked Opeth songs? I think they're great, The Lotus Eater has a really cool funky/jazzy bit towards the end :)

Helloween - Gambling With The Devil

(a fine album, as recommended by TO)

the first time i heard the lotus eater i was absolutely shocked at how different it sounded to anything else they've put out... i mean... clean vocals over a blastbeat! and they've never alternated between cleans and growls so quickly! i think the tracks are really good tho, and they're still managing to put out something unique every time... opeth all the way.

I've been listening to Opeth pretty much every day for a week, in have all the albums now and i really can't say i dislike any of them. Also heard the new tracks, they sound a lot different but i think it will be a great album once again!

Kiss - Alive 1

Still one of my favourite albums some 28 years after i bought it.
Forget Alive 2/3 and 4 - the first live KISS album from 1975 is worth listening to.......

I'm amused that it is being rediscovered by players of Guitar Hero because of Strutter being on hat game.

Opeth are truly amazing... Ghost Reveries must be one of the most perfect albums i could name.

Also been listening to Transcendental by To-Mera a lot. Progressive Metal with female vocals and fantastic classically-influenced piano which imo we dont hear enough of in metal.

Jan Hammer - The First Seven Days.
I've got major GAS for a Minimoog.
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon

He is more like a guitarist than most guitarists with that bloody thing :)

Golden Earrings album To the Hilt made me feel the same way for a mini moog, but only for the bass lines.
Goodbye London !

Turns out the whole of Opeths new album, Watershed has leaked now. Its bloody brilliant :) I'll definitely be buying this when it comes out officially.

I've actually just bought the albums of theirs that I downloaded before - I feel so guilty stealing music off such talented musicians   I got Damnation as well, I havent heard anything off that yet so will see how it is when it arrives.
